Compare Working Copy to Original

Using various software applications, we ensure:

  • All edits have been made to the working document
  • Run spell check and correct any errors
  • Ensure consistency in the spelling of names, places and entities
  • Ensure consistency of formatting including, but not limited to, margins, dates, headings, outline numbering, case captions and signature blocks
  • Run grammar check and correct any errors including, but not limited to, basic punctuation errors (e.g. two spaces after the end of a sentence; two spaces after colons; one space after semicolons and commas)
  • Any changes to this approach must be requested at the time the document is submitted
  • When making corrections to documents we ensure document formatting is consistent throughout
  • If a client wishes us to do otherwise (e.g. make it look exactly like the original including errors and inconsistencies) that must be specified at the time the document is submitted

Standalone Document

Using various software applications, we will:

  • Read for content and identify inconsistencies including conflicting sentences, paragraphs or sections
  • Identify incomplete or missing text
  • Identify improper use of terminology
  • Run spell check and correct any errors
  • Ensure consistency in the spelling of names, places and entities
  • Ensure consistency of formatting including, but not limited to, margins, dates, headings, outline numbering, case captions and signature blocks
  • Run grammar check and correct any errors including, but not limited to, basic punctuation (e.g. two spaces after the end of a sentence; two spaces after colons and one space after semicolons and commas)
  • Ensure cross referencing is correct including names and numbers for tables, charts, dates, places and sections
  • Ensure consistency with court rules provided by the client (e.g. line numbers, margins, fonts, page/word limits, certification)
  • If a client wishes us to use a different approach other than Microsoft’s Track Changes feature that must be specified at the time the document is submitted

Double Proofreaders

  • Services as outlined but performed by two proofreaders where one reads while one edits
