Management
Co-Founder: Catherine E. Massey had more than 16 years experience as Owner & President of Legal Resources, Inc., a legal temporary and placement service in Atlanta, Georgia. She parlayed that experience, in addition to more than 10 years experience in corporate management, into founding and then managing the high quality of labor at LawDocsXpress. She has a BA from Duke University and an MS from Georgia State University

Co-Founder: Sharon S. Quaintance has extensive background in telecommunications, data transport and Internet services. As VP Operations for Avana Communications, she guided all aspects of its explosive growth -- taking it from a local Internet company to a nationwide convergence company in six months. In addition, she has more than 18 years experience in corporate voice and data telecommunications. She has a MBA degree from Loyola Marymount University and a BA from the University of Southern California.

History
Massey had been contemplating an Internet-based legal secretarial service since the early 1990s as an extension of her traditional legal secretarial temporary agency, Legal Resources. It wasn't until 2001 that she felt Internet technology was sufficiently secure to enable attorneys to feel confident using a "virtual" legal secretarial service.

Ms. Massey asked Sharon Quaintance to develop a business plan and design the technology -- the two cofounders were off and running! A limited market test was conducted in October 2001. Based on user feedback and Ms. Massey's knowledge of attorneys' secretarial needs, Ms. Quaintance modified the technology platform using industry leading document management software by iManage, which is now Interwoven.
LawDocsXpress officially began operations on Jan. 1, 2002. Ms. Quaintance designed and ran all operations. Ms. Massey screened and selected the secretarial personnel, provided sales leads and market expertise.

Today, Ms. Massey is responsible for staffing, quality control, secretarial training and chairing the LDX Board of Advisors. Ms. Quaintance continues to oversee all other business functions.
