An AMLAW 200 law firm initially selected an offshore company to provide document review and coding of various emails associated with trial preparation work. Upon examining samples of the initial work product performed by this company, the firm discovered that many of the documents were being coded incorrectly. Additionally, certain critical items in the documents were being overlooked likely due to misinterpretation of colloquialisms and the inability to identify key points that appeared to be obscured through vague language.
The firm asked LawDocsXpress to perform an objective review of another section of the emails that had not yet been reviewed and coded. LawDocsXpress was given a range of bates numbers of documents to review and tasked with finding and marking certain key items based on specific criteria provided by the firm. The LawDocsXpress team members were able to review the documents online and enter notes directly into the firm's case management system. This facilitated on-line training, answering questions, maintaining efficiency and reducing extraneous steps in the editing process.
Due to the high quality of the work produced by LawDocsXpress, the firm had LawDocsXpress perform an additional review of the documents initially sent to the offshore company. Based on LawDocsXpress’ ability to catch and correct errors in the other company’s work as well as the fact that LawDocsXpress had significantly higher accuracy in its original work, the firm selected LawDocsXpress to perform the document review and coding for the entire set of trial preparation documents.
